DR. DINESH POKHAREL, MD
I was born and grown up in high hills of Nepal in the lap of Himalayas. I completed my school years and Intermediate in Science in Nepal. At the age of eighteen, I got an opportunity to study in Russia for medical school which I had always dreamt of pursuing my career in medicine. It was a challenging journey for me to travel far from home, struggle with a quite different language, and cultural diversities. I worked diligently during my medical school and graduated with Honors. Soon after; I was offered a scholarship to pursue residency training in Neurology which I completed successfully from Tver State Medical Academy. Since I moved to the US, I started working at Allmed Medical Center and California Spine Care in Sacramento for one year prior to my residency training in Internal Medicine in SUNY- South Shore Program at St John’s Episcopal Hospital, New York. I am eagerly looking forward to completing my residency in June 2017 and immediately start serving communities in Sacramento area.
I am a multilingual person with language fluencies in English, Russian, Nepali, Hindi, and Urdu. I am married to my beautiful wife Laxmi and have one son. I enjoy reading books, visiting new places, swimming, volleyball, spending time with families and tasting my wife’s menu.
